Rennel Rhodes is the newest admin to Buhach Colony high school he plans on adding a positive outcome to the whole year. Rennel Rhodes is following in his father’s footsteps. Rhodes can be found in A11 or around campus doing his job. If you have a problem you can find him there and he can try to assist you in any way he can.
Why were you inspired to be an admin?
My father was a counselor in this district for almost 30 years.
What is your favorite inspiring quote?
“The difference between who you are and what you want is what you do.”
What are your hopes for the school year turnout?
I know it will be a great year at Buhach Colony. The whole staff has been great since the day I stepped on campus. Everyone seems to have the best interest of students.
What are you planning on adding to admin?
An enthusiastic, positive outlook on the future of education. Our admin team is great and I want to be another solid piece to the puzzle.
What school did you work at before coming here?
I worked at Merced High for 7 years.
What are your goals?
To be a positive influence in the lives of students and staff on a daily basis, as well as a positive role model.
Were you a teacher before?
Yes. I taught special education for almost 10 years.
How many years of college did you have to complete to become Assistant Principal?
I finished my administrative credential in a little over a year.
What are your hobbies?
Spending time with my family, kids and friends. Attending church and sporting events.
What high school did you go to?
I graduated from Merced High School.
Were you a straight A student throughout Elementary? What about high school? If not, why?
I was not a straight A student at any level. While I was bright, I was unfocused when I was young. It took me some time to “figure things out.”
In reference to the previous question: How did you manage to do it?
I have always had a very supportive family system that set the bar high. Once I got my priorities in order I made goal-setting a regular priority. It helped me stay on the path to achieve goals.
Do you plan on stay at Buhach?
I hope so. I really feel comfortable here and enjoy coming to work each and every day trying to make a difference.
