Some of the competitors who participated in the County Academic Decathlon on Saturday, February 6th 2016, were highly rewarded with awards and scholarships. Three scholarships were given to three of the seniors here at BC. Two of them were for $250 and those were awarded to senior Kaylayshia Ward and Alan Acasio. The highest scholarship was given to Karissa Jacobsen for $500.

Hard work and dedication shows through time. Buhach decathlon works hard from zero period to hours of their own time. Are you thinking your brain is full with the classes you take now? Well add on seven extra subjects to that. Yes, decathlon studies seven subjects crammed into one semester. Then a long, crucial assessment is taken at the end to put their brain's to the test.

The dedication and long hours spent putting into studying pays off in the end. Decathlon teacher Liz Phonesavanh and other contributors deserve a pat on the back for how great this year has turned out for decathlon. Also, as deserved, high praise to the students participating as well. You can be a brainiac or just someone hungry for knowledge, decathlon will always pay off in the end.
