![]() As many may know, college can be very expensive and stressful. Students can have difficulties paying for tuition, housing and the rest of the necessities for college. Many students take out loans and end up having to pay them off for a good amount of their lives. Well here is a solution, apply to these scholarships that could make your college years a lot easier!
At the the Buhach Colony career center you can pick up a generic scholarship that allows you to apply to not only one but multiple scholarships. The local citizens and businesses in the city of Atwater have programs to give local students scholarships. The best part is that you don't have to apply to each individually. According to career coordinator Irma Janzen “If you fill out the generic scholarship, we will attach a copy of your transcripts and send in to each individual scholarship to for you.” That's can be such a stress reliever for students who areoverwhelmed with the thought of applying. Make sure to apply before the deadline which is February 22, 2016. The next great scholarship you can apply to is the Bloss scholarship. The Bloss family has a ton of free money to give out. This scholarship is only online but is a very easy process that can be finished in about 20 minutes. It is meant for local students in the MUHSD and mostly every person who applies gets it. The minimum GPA is a 2.5 and the higher the GPA the higher the scholarship. The link can be found here Bloss Scholarship Application. Make sure to apply before the deadline which is March 22nd. The last Scholarship you can apply to is the Cal Grant. This is absolutely free and can get you a lot of money for college. This is a great scholarships to apply to because California is the only state that gives out this grant to its students. The grant is for any student in California with a GPA of 3.0 that will be attending a school in the state of California. This Grant does not apply to students who will study out of state. This grant can be found here Cal Grant Application. and has the most to offer of the three. According to casc.ca.gov “To be considered for a 2016-2017 Cal Grant award, you must have completed both of these application requirements by March 2, 2016 which includes an application for FAFSA and a copy of your GPA. Applying to scholarships can really help you save money and can be a lot more wise than picking up student loans.
