Many Events Planned for the Month of February!

Boys Basketball Game:
On Friday February 3rd, the boys varsity basketball team played against Pitman. They won with a score of 46- 43!!!! On top of that, this is their first league win! The game went into overtime with the Thunder boys fighting hard to take the win in the very end. Congratulations Thunder!!

Human Dot Homeless:
Buhach Colony has been allowing students to drop off items in boxes of their first period class that can help out the less fortunate. Items that can be dropped off include toothpaste, deodorant, granola bars, shampoo, etc… It has been made into a contest with the period with the most items collected getting donuts. Donations will not be accepted any later than February 8th. speaking and original advocacy. He took the 1 in every round he was in. He placed first overall in both events. Alyssa Conroy placed second overall in original oratory. Twila Cuenca and Yvette Carrillo-Bernal took first overall in Duo interp.Jessee Espinosa and Kole Joachim took first overall in public forum debate with a perfect record of 3-0. Harrison Hobbs and Jared Hoffart placed 3rd and 4th, respectively, in expository speaking. Jared Hoffart also placed 3rd overall in congress. Crystal Ruiz placed 5th overall in Dramatic interp. Jesse Espinosa and Paige Stapleton both placed fifth overall in impromptu speaking.Thank you to those who actively support academic competition on this campus, it means the world to the students involved to know you are rooting for them.” Woah, way to go Speech and Debate!! Academic Decathalon:
US history teacher Josh Newton announced, “The Academic Decathlon team had a great showing the weekend, bringing home 6 medals. The following students received medals and scholarships at the event this past weekend. In Honors category (highest level): Crioni Cuenca: Gold Medal in Essay, Silver Medal in Speech, and a $250 scholarship. Vivek Vanga: Silver Medal in Math, Top Scoring team member and $500 scholarship. In the Scholastic category: Ashley Morales: Gold Medal in Literature, Silver Medal in Art, Silver Medal in Literature, and a $250 scholarship. Please congratulate these students if you see them. The team is already plotting how we can take home more medals next year and take down the nine time champion (and evil empire) Merced next year.” Annual Crab Feed: On Saturday, February 4th the Buhach Colony Music Boosters hosted their annual Crab Feed. All funds made go to the Buhach Colony Thunder Band to help them afford things such as Uniforms, Instruments, and much more. Lots of people enjoyed delicious crab as well as an auction. For entertainment, the Thunder Jazz Band played on stage providing amazing music. The Buhach Colony Music boosters and Thunder Band thank you for your support! |
