The BC Times have always covered Teacher of the Month but what about a Student of the Month? Thanks to Principal Steve Hobbs, he has selected junior Neal Patel for the month of April. Hobbs stated, “He’s a great kid. He’s a focused and outstanding kid who's involved in clubs. He also shows Thunder P.R.I.D.E.” It seems he chose the perfect student because even assistant principal Marcus Knott agreed. Patel gladly agreed to a short interview.
Why do you think you were chosen as student of the month?
I am the president of two clubs on campus and I take initiative.
What was a conflict in your life that made you into the person you are today?
I moved a lot. I had to adapt to the locations I moved to.
What is your greatest passion?
I give back to the community. It makes me feel like I’m making a difference and helping those less fortunate than I am.
What’s the most inspiring movie you have ever seen?
Pursuit of Happiness. Will Smith’s character shows determination. Nothing could stop him from reaching success.
Batman or Superman?
Superman. He actually has superpowers. Batman is just rich and ripped.
