On February 10th, in the Thunder Dome, Buhach(5-5) played against their cross-town rival, Atwater High(4-6). The Falcons defeated the Thunder with a final score of 66-63. While it was Atwater High’s last game for the season, Buhach will continue working hard for their playoff games. After a 3 year dury spell, Buhach will be advancing to the playoffs that will happen sometime this week. Coach John Bliss stated, “It has been a fun year with many rewarding experiences… We are fortunate to have a team of excellent student athletes who play hard, smart and together, better than any other group I have coached.” Both schools had loud spirit sections and screamed out their chants!
At the game, the seniors from the cheerleading team and the basketball team were both being recognized. Seniors from Buhach’s cheerleading team : Kelsey Smith, Selena Chavez, Hailey Steffen, Maria Navarette, Kaylie Hayes, Daphni Fraguglia, Mercedes Gimeno, Anajany Guzman and Kaylashialayshia Ward. Seniors recognized from the varsity basketball team were: Jake Walejko, Salah Suwaileh, Travis Lema, Wyatt Gibson, Darius Mack, Jaswinder Bidwal, and Kory Woods. A huge good luck to the BCHS Varsity basketball team as they advance to the playoffs this week!
