Welcome to Buhach Colony’s new Vice Principal, Anelle Kelly. Kelly is a mother to 4 kids, ages 17, 16, 7, and 4. She attended Stanislaus and got her master’s at Grand Canyon University. Kelly taught Special Education for several years.Later, she taught Kindergarten and 5th grade. She was an instructional coach at Weaver Union School District before becoming the Vice Principal at Buhach Colony High School. Without saying it out loud, she loves her job and plans on staying here for quite some time.
When did you decide to become a teacher and why did you choose this field?
I had a pre-law major and I felt like it was going to take up a lot of time away from my family, so that is when I decided to become a teacher.
What’s your favorite thing about Buhach?
I love the staff and student interaction I get to have. I also enjoy the time here and relationships building I get to have with students and staff.
What can you say about the BC staff and students here?
They are all a huge community and willing to help when there is a need.
Do you like your position as a VP and why?
I love it. I feel as a Vice Principal we represent our school. I feel at this level we work together to move the school forward and I’m proud of the team I work with. They are always looking out for the teacher’s and student’s best interests.
If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? Tamales because it is part of my culture and the whole process of making it together allows my family to bond.
