Who done it? This semester the forensic science classes have been learning how to evaluate crime scenes, gather evidence, identify potential suspects, and use science and the process of elimination to name the number one suspect to try for the crime. Jennifer Medeiros as well as Alan Bettis are participating to set up this crime scene.
On Thursday, December 8th during 3rd, 4th and 5th period there was an investigation! “This is a very big thing, the newspaper will be here, it’s no joke!” states Lea Smith, the coordinator of this project.
The story behind the scene was that Katherine Zamarripa and Jennifer Medeiros were scheduled to meet in H8, Medeiros’ classroom, at 7:00 a.m. to go over and prepare all the gifts for the Winter Wishes rally. Zamarripa arrived right on time, but Mrs. Medeiros was not present. Zamarripa left the classroom in search of Jennifer Medeiros, and when she returned to H8 at 7:15, Mrs. Medeiros was there…. Laying dead in a pool of blood on the floor. Dun Dun DUUNNN!! “This crime scene has really exceeded a lot of expectations, I am excited to see!” States Administrator Anelle Kelly.
Students raved about the talk of the crime scenes. Both forensic classes get to witness and collect evidence from the scenes and other bypassing students are welcome to observe. “I think it’s going to be so cool! I’m psyched to be apart of it!” states Garrett Groth, a senior in Lea Smith’s forensic class. The popularity of this crime scene has spread across and throughout Atwater. Not only that, but the Merced SunStar was there to capture everything. Click link at the bottom of the page to view the story!
I, myself, was able to walk onto this crime scene and take photos of the body, evidence, and make sketches as well as make inferences on how the crime scene may have occurred. Evidence shows that Mrs. Medeiros may have been killed from blunt force trauma to the head from a hole puncher and severe blood loss. We will find who did this, Mrs. Medeiros! Leave it to the BC Crime Team!
Who killed Mrs. Medeiros? It’s up to Buhach students to figure it out
