Katherine Zamarripa is Buhach Colony High School’s new activities director for the year of 2016/2017. She attended Merced JC, Butte JC, Galvin JC, Stanislaus State, and got her credential through National University. For the past two and a half years Zamarripa taught English at El Capitan High School. Zamarripa is a single mom of three with a 12 year old, a 10 year old and an 8 year old.

How have you enjoyed teaching at Buhach so far?
I love it. From day one I felt at home. I mean, it wasn’t a hard transition at all.

What are your hobbies?

I love to golf and travel, going to the coast and anywhere I haven’t been before. I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I am definitely not a homebody. I like taking my kids places .

What is your most embarrassing moment while teaching?

Good thing this is while teaching, I have so many out of teaching. Just like…  I would say calling my kids the wrong name, cause then I try to pull it off like it didn’t happen.

What is your dream job?

I wanted to work and move to New York and be on SNL, Saturday Night Live, but I love my job.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

To clone myself. I can take my kids places and then all the non me’s can get stuff done; do my work and clean the house.

Who inspires you?

Can we get religious here? Cause I'm gonna say God. Just… he is so loving and compassionate. I just want to do the same thing and be like him. And friendly, he’s loving, compassionate, and friendly.
